Join Us This Saturday for the Annual Letter Carrier Food Drive – Make a Difference in Our Community!

Get ready for the 33rd annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive this Saturday! You might find a bright yellow bag in your mailbox this week, handy for your nonperishable food donations.

This event, run by the National Association of Letter Carriers, happens every second Saturday in May. Across the country, letter carriers will collect food as they deliver mail, and all donations will go straight to local food banks.

Since starting in 1993, this food drive has helped gather nearly 2 billion pounds of food nationwide, showing just how powerful community efforts can be.

Spring is the perfect time for this drive. Many local food banks need extra supplies after holidays. In Snohomish County, around 93,000 people faced food insecurity in 2023, according to Feeding America. That’s about 11% of the local population! With recent funding cuts and high demand, these donations are more necessary than ever.

To help out, simply leave your nonperishable food items by your mailbox this Saturday—either in the yellow bag or any container you like. Together, we can make a real difference!
