Exciting New Talent: David Jonsson Teams Up with Gracie Abrams, Connor Storrie, and Tom Burke in A24’s ‘Please’ Directed by Halina Reijn

Halina Reijn, the talented writer and director behind “Babygirl,” is expanding her cast for her new film “Please,” which is in collaboration with A24. Joining the project is David Jonsson, a BAFTA Rising Star award winner for his standout performances in “Rye Lane” and “Alien: Romulus.”

Jonsson will share the screen with Gracie Abrams, making her acting debut, Connor Storrie, and Tom Burke. While specific plot details for “Please” remain a mystery, Reijn is known for her unique style, evident in her previous works like “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” a satirical slasher, and “Babygirl,” an erotic thriller that grossed $64 million globally.

The film’s production team includes David Hinojosa and Zach Nutman, with A24 financing and producing. This project signifies another step in Jonsson’s rising career. Recently, he received acclaim for the dystopian thriller “The Long Walk,” based on a Stephen King novel, and starred in the indie film “Wasteman,” which made waves at the Toronto Film Festival.

Looking ahead, Jonsson has exciting roles lined up, including in Colman Domingo’s directorial debut “Scandalous,” where he stars alongside Sydney Sweeney. He will also work with his “The Long Walk” co-star, Cooper Hoffman, in Plan B’s “Chaperones,” and take on a lead role in Frank Ocean’s upcoming debut feature.

With a growing list of impressive projects, Jonsson is surely a name to watch in the film industry. For more on his journey and updates, you can visit sources like BAFTA for recognition in film and A24 for new and exciting projects.
