MOBILE, Ala. — The Coastal Georgia women’s tennis team celebrated a significant 4-2 win against Our Lady of the Lake on Tuesday at the Mobile Tennis Center. This victory raises their season record to 12-7.
Strong Start in Doubles
The Mariners kicked things off by winning the doubles point. Karlie Scott Kersey and Gabriella Rodrigues claimed the No. 1 doubles match with a solid score of 6-3. Gabriela Miteva and Luna Feillon followed suit, edging out their opponents 7-6, 7-4 at No. 2. Our Lady of the Lake managed to take the No. 3 doubles match, winning 6-1.
Singles Success
Coastal Georgia carried their early momentum into singles play, securing four out of six matches. Gabriela Miteva was particularly impressive at No. 2 singles, winning decisively 6-2, 6-1. Felicia Elixmann faced a tougher challenge but triumphed in a three-set battle at No. 5, finishing 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Manon Baudet also made a comeback at No. 6, winning her match 1-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Luna Feillon fought hard in her No. 3 singles match but ultimately lost 5-7, 6-1, 2-4. Karlie Scott Kersey and Gabriella Rodrigues faced stiff competition at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively, with Kersey falling 0-6, 4-6 and Rodrigues losing 1-6, 1-6.
