Nicholls State Baseball Heads to Southland Conference Tournament
The Nicholls State University baseball team is gearing up to compete in the Southland Conference Tournament as the No. 4 seed. This year marks their 11th appearance in the tournament’s history, and they’ll be headed to Hammond for bracket play.

Previously, Nicholls took on McNeese in a three-game series and lost the first two but managed to clinch the final game 3-2. Two standouts this season, designated hitter Nico Rijo-Berger and catcher Logan Terry, earned spots on the SLC’s Second Team. Rijo-Berger, boasting a .357 batting average overall and a remarkable .374 in conference play, has become a key offensive player. He has 56 hits, nine doubles, and three home runs this season. His strong performance includes several multi-hit games, especially against Lamar, where he delivered the game-winning hit.
