Brown Women’s Crew Shines at 2026 Ivy Championships
The Brown women’s crew team put on a great show at the Ivy Championships, finishing third overall with 64 points. Yale topped the standings with 82 points, followed closely by Princeton with 80.
The highlight of the day was the Varsity Eight, coxed by Summer Balla-Kellett and stroked by Sydney Chait-Walter. They secured a bronze medal with a time of 6:17.138. This marks Brown’s second consecutive season in third place for the V8 and the eighth time on the podium since 2012.
The Second Varsity also grabbed a third place finish. Coxed by Caitlyn Roddy and stroked by Isla Wilding, they had a thrilling race against Yale. The final time was 6:18.904, just 0.213 seconds behind Yale’s time.
In a standout performance, the Third Varsity, coxed by Katherine Mitchell and stroked by Olivia Tingley-Kelley, took home gold with a time of 6:35.874. This victory adds to their history, as it’s their third gold since 2012, with previous wins in 2024 and 2017.
The A4 team, led by coxswain Brooke Halvorsen and stroke Calissa Snyder-Cox, also won a bronze, finishing with a time of 7:09.596. They narrowly missed silver, trailing Harvard by just 1.540 seconds.
However, the B4 team, coxed by Fiona Daly and stroked by Francesca Fraim, finished sixth with a time of 7:48.411.

Now, all eyes are on the NCAA Championships in Gainesville, Georgia. The selection show takes place on May 19 at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
