Join Us This Wednesday: Journey Community Food Pantry’s Grocery Distribution Event!

Journey Community Food Pantry is offering groceries on Wednesdays, specifically on May 20, 2026, from 10 AM to 5 PM. Each household will receive a variety of items, including meats, fruits, vegetables, breads, desserts, and canned goods. There will also be vitamins and coffee available.

To receive food, clients need to bring a photo ID along with a recent utility bill, medical bill, or government mail dated within the last two months. It’s crucial that the address on both the ID and the mail match. Junk mail won’t be accepted.

Families will also receive extra bags of food for each verified child. To verify children, you can use social security cards or school records.

Remember, households can access the pantry once a month, and Journey serves residents of Floyd and Chattooga Counties in Georgia, as well as Cherokee County in Alabama.

The location is:

Journey Community Food Pantry
15 Redmond Court NW
Rome, GA 30165

As the pantry expects an increase in clients, you might have to wait longer than usual. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated.

In recent years, food pantries have seen a rise in demand. According to Feeding America, 1 in 8 Americans face hunger. This highlights the ongoing issue of food insecurity across the country. During tough economic times, more families turn to community resources like Journey for help.

Social media has played a crucial role in spreading awareness about food assistance programs. Many families are using platforms like Facebook to share information and support one another during these challenging times.
