Similarly, Yigitoglu has excelled internationally and at SMU, showing a knack for scoring and rebounding with impressive efficiency.
“Samet knows he’s a big guy,” Coach DeVries noted. His physical presence is likely to impact games significantly, whether setting hard screens or dominating in the paint.
There’s also Trent Sisley. He’s the only returnee from last season and has been working hard this summer. At 6-foot-8, he showed great promise as a freshman, averaging 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 30 games. Coach DeVries is confident that with more strength and experience, Sisley will make a leap this season.
Overall, the Hoosiers have the talent to reclaim their spot as contenders in the Big Ten. With new players and a focus on improving both offense and defense, they are setting themselves up for success. It’s a fresh beginning for a team eager to make a mark this season.
