The University of Idaho has appointed Brooke Blevins as interim provost and executive vice president. She will step into her new role right away.

Blevins has been the dean of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences since 2022. During her time there, she has expanded educational programs and built strong connections with industries and donors. One of her key achievements is the creation of a fully online Doctor of Education program aimed at leaders throughout Idaho.

In her previous role, Blevins worked closely with the Idaho State Board of Education and has even testified before the Idaho Legislature on topics like K-12 education and teacher preparation. She has also formed partnerships with various state departments, including the Idaho Department of Education and the Idaho Workforce Council.

Blevins holds multiple degrees, including bachelor’s degrees in economics and speech communication, a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction. Before she entered higher education, she taught high school in Texas and had a noteworthy career at Baylor University.

She replaces Torrey Lawrence, who has served since 2020 and will return to a faculty position at the university.
