Five Winona State Softball Athletes Shine as Academic All-District Honorees
In Winona, Minnesota, five standout softball players from Winona State University are making headlines. Jayda Berg, Bryn Elsenpeter, Braelee Jodarski, Lila McNeill, and Alyssa Woelfel have each been recognized as Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators. This honor highlights student-athletes who excel both in their sport and in academics.
Impressive Performances on the Field
Jayda Berg, a junior from Coon Valley, Wisconsin, had an exceptional season. She achieved a 20-4 record, pitched 168.2 innings, and struck out 126 batters while only walking 13. Her performance earned her First Team All-NSIC and Second Team D2CCA All-Region honors.
Senior Bryn Elsenpeter from Maple Lake, Minnesota, also left a mark during her final year. She finished her career with a .341 batting average, leading the NSIC with 15 home runs and driving in 55 runs. Her work earned her First Team All-NSIC, First Team D2CCA All-Region, and Second Team NFCA All-Region accolades.
Braelee Jodarski, a sophomore from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, made a strong impact as well. Starting every game, she slugged .550, hit eight home runs, and drove in 35 runs across the season.
Lila McNeill, another sophomore, stepped up in her first year with the Warriors. From Salem, Wisconsin, she played in all 59 games, hitting .328 while scoring 31 runs and making 17 extra-base hits.
Finally, Alyssa Woelfel, who continues to be a vital player, also contributed significantly to the team’s success.
Team Achievements
The Warriors had a fantastic season, finishing with a 48-11 record. They secured their sixth NSIC Regular Season Championship and made their 16th appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The blend of academic excellence and athletic skill among these players showcases a strong commitment to their education and sport.
