Boston University’s men’s rowing team made a strong showing on the first day of the 2026 IRA National Championship Regatta at Lake Natoma. Three crews advanced to the semifinals, showcasing their determination and skill.

The Second Varsity 8, under coxswain Luke Stroh and stroke Griffith Coupland, battled closely with rivals like Cal and Syracuse. Although they ended up fourth with a time of 5:52.14, their effort propelled them to the CD semifinals.
In an exciting finish, the Third Varsity 8, coxed by Ben Brinckerhoff with Liam Feeney at stroke, took an early lead but found themselves in a tight race with Syracuse. They crossed the finish line just 0.89 seconds behind, securing their place in the AB semifinals.
The Varsity 4, managed by coxswain Hannah Noguchi and stroke Mason Laundry, raced in the morning to a time of 6:20.936, earning them a spot among the top crews.
