Bill Maher had a good laugh during his monologue on Real Time about the artists backing out of President Donald Trump’s upcoming concert series, the Freedom 250.
He joked, “We’re throwing a big birthday bash for America, featuring Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, Morris Day, and Bret Michaels. It’s great that the president cares about the unemployed!”
Maher pointed out the irony when many artists, after being announced, chose not to participate. “It must sting to be turned down by Milli Vanilli,” he quipped.
Recently, Bret Michaels and The Commodores have joined the list of artists who won’t be performing. Michaels stated that the event, initially meant to celebrate the country, has become more divisive than he intended. He expressed concern for his safety and that of his fans, citing threats that he deemed “unfounded and unforgivable.” He emphasized that his decision isn’t about politics; it’s about safety and personal principles.
