Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has earned Conde Nast Traveler's coveted “Triple Crown,” a recognition reserved for hotels that have secured three of the publication's major honors.
The Hanoi luxury hotel received the distinction after appearing across Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List, Gold List and Readers' Choice Awards. According to the announcement, only 396 hotels worldwide have achieved this rare trifecta.
The recognition was featured in the magazine's June 2026 edition and highlights the hotel's long-standing reputation for service, heritage and luxury hospitality in Vietnam's capital.
“Those who appreciate the finer things from a hotel stay – impeccable service, rich history, and, in this instance, beautiful spaces showcasing a seamless blend of classic French sophistication and Vietnamese heritage – will relish stepping into a bygone era of elegance at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi,” Conde Nast Traveler notes.
Editors also praised the hotel's service as “superb across the board” and described its guest rooms as “opulent.” Rooms in the original three-story Heritage Wing were noted for 1920s French and Indochine influences, while the seven-story neo-classical Opera Wing was described as equally luxurious but more modern, with appeal for families and business travelers.
Le Spa du Metropole, which was recently named Vietnam's Best Hotel Spa in the Tatler Best of Vietnam 2026 awards, was also highlighted. The spa was described as “an elegant sanctuary overlooking the garden courtyard with eight treatment rooms, including two themed couple suites.”
George Koumendakos, General Manager of Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, said: “Receiving the Triple Crown from Conde Nast Traveler is a profound honor for our entire team as we celebrate the hotel's 125th anniversary this year. This recognition validates our unwavering commitment to excellence – honoring our historic legacy while delivering the highest standards of personalized service, authentic cultural experiences and timeless elegance that our guests have cherished for more than a century.”
Earlier this year, the Metropole was also named one of the world's “500 Best Hotels” by Travel + Leisure magazine, marking its sixth consecutive year on that list.
The hotel first opened in 1901 and has become one of Vietnam's most prominent heritage luxury properties. To mark its 125th anniversary, it is hosting a series of events under the theme “125 Years of a Legend” throughout the year.
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has 358 rooms across two wings: the historic Heritage Wing, dating back to 1901, and the neo-classical Opera Wing. The property also includes restaurants and bars such as Le Club Bar, Le Beaulieu, Spice Garden, angelina, La Terrasse and Bamboo Bar.
Guests can also access gardens, a heated outdoor pool, fitness facilities, meeting rooms, Le Spa du Metropole, La Boutique and the L'Epicerie gourmet deli and patisserie.
