Sheldon Plankton is the little one-eyed troublemaker from SpongeBob SquarePants. His biggest goal? To steal the Krabby Patty secret formula and dominate the world! Plankton runs the Chum Bucket in Bikini Bottom, where he constantly tries and fails to compete with Mr. Krabs and his successful Krusty Krab.
Despite thinking he’s a genius, Plankton’s plans often flop. His missteps are usually due to his own mistakes or, unfortunately, his nemesis SpongeBob stepping in to thwart him. If only he’d listen to Karen, his clever computer wife, who is always at his side, offering advice.
In this film, following last year’s “Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie,” we explore more about Plankton and Karen’s relationship. Karen takes center stage as a powerful supercomputer. Fed up with her husband’s antics, she decides to take charge, pushing Plankton to team up with SpongeBob for a change!
The animation style has switched to computer-generated visuals, which gives more room for funny moments. However, some fans might miss the charm of the original series’ hand-drawn style. Still, there’s much to enjoy here. Instead of guest stars, the movie features beloved characters, including Mrs. Puff and Sandy, in fun new storylines.
The musical numbers are a highlight, especially the catchy tune “Say My Name, Karen,” which adds flair to the film. Fans of the series will smile at the quirky scenes with Plankton’s quirky family. And, true to SpongeBob style, expect plenty of chaos and laughs along the way.
Who knew a story about marital troubles could be such a blast for everyone? Keep an eye out for more adventures, especially with the hint of a Squidward movie coming next!
Available on Netflix starting March 7th.
