Revolutionize Your Scheduling: Google’s New AI Button in Gmail Effortlessly Adds Events to Your Calendar!

Google has rolled out a new feature using its Gemini AI to make adding events to your Google Calendar easier. This feature scans emails in Gmail for details about events.

When Gemini finds an event in your email, you’ll see a new “Add to Calendar” button. Click this, and a sidebar will pop up to confirm the event. You’ll also get an option to edit any details before saving. While you could add events with Gemini before, this update automates much of the process.

This feature works similarly to older Google calendar tools that could automatically add events from appointment or travel emails. Currently, it’s being rolled out for businesses, educational users, and Google One subscribers.

In my experience testing the feature, it recognized two events in a single email, which was impressive. However, the experience wasn’t exactly as described. The sidebar didn’t show the edit button as promised. Instead, it confirmed details and asked for my approval before adding them. After saying “yes,” the events were added. I could quickly click through to view them in my calendar, which was handy.
