A new Mexican restaurant is making its debut in Lennon, MI, and the owner, Juan Vizcarra, is excited. For him, this isn’t just a restaurant—it’s the fulfillment of a dream.

Juan’s Taqueria, located at 11941 E. Corunna Road, focuses on authentic Mexican street food. The menu may be small, but it packs a punch. Diners can look forward to tasty birria tacos served with flavorful consommé, grilled shrimp tacos with a kick of chipotle, and hearty tortas filled with steak, chicken, or birria. Classic favorites like nachos, quesadillas, and street corn round out the offerings, along with sweet treats like churros and drinks such as horchata and Jarritos.

Vizcarra shared his journey, saying, “It has always been my dream to own my own restaurant,” now shared with his wife, Donna. After stepping away from his role at Don Felipe, a popular Mexican spot in the area, he decided it was time to go solo and bring his own vision to life.

He describes his food as simple and genuine. “It’s real, authentic street tacos and food,” he explains. His goal is to provide meals that remind people of traditional flavors, connecting them to the true essence of Mexican cuisine.

Vizcarra’s motivation goes beyond cooking; it’s deeply personal. “I work hard to provide for my beautiful family—my wife and my two kids, Joshua and Isabella. Everything I do is for them.”
