RWJBarnabas Health Hospitals Shine in Recent Safety Ratings

Seven hospitals from RWJBarnabas Health earned an “A” rating from The Leapfrog Group, while five received a “B” rating. The hospitals awarded “A” grades include Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, Community Medical Center in Toms River, Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus in Lakewood, and three Robert Wood Johnson University Hospitals. The hospitals with “B” ratings include Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, Jersey City Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, and Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth.

This achievement marks RWJUH Rahway’s eighth consecutive “A” rating. Additionally, both Community Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus have maintained their “A” ratings for five years. Cooperman Barnabas improved from a “B” to an “A,” reflecting a strong commitment to patient safety.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade focuses on preventing medical errors and injuries. It’s the only program solely dedicated to this important aspect of healthcare. Ratings are updated twice a year and are accessible to the public.
