Google is introducing Search agents, a new way to create, customize and manage multiple AI agents inside Search. The first version will focus on information agents, which are designed to run in the background 24/7 and reason across information to find what users need.
According to the company, information agents can help users stay updated on topics that matter to them by scanning the web, including blogs, news sites and social posts, as well as its freshest data such as real-time info on finance, shopping and sports. The agents are built to monitor changes tied to a specific question and send a synthesized update.
Google says the feature will also support action-oriented use cases. In one example, a user apartment hunting can list exact requirements and the agent will continuously scan for matching listings and notify the user when they appear. In another, the agent can alert users when favorite pro athletes announce a sneaker collab or when a new drop lands.
Information agents will launch first for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers this summer.
