Despite the reassurance, Burch expressed concern about the implications of AI in gaming. She worries that such technology might undermine the art of voice acting. I feel worried not because the technology exists,” she stated. “But because if companies start using it without protections for us, it could erase the need for talented performers.”

Burch’s comments come amid a significant strike by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA). The union is seeking protections for voice actors, especially regarding consent and fair compensation when AI is used to create digital versions of them.
