Hyderabad: Advocate Ali Mohammad Maaz has asked the Indian government to bring Shahzadi Khan’s body back to India. He spoke to PTI, saying that while he had initially reported the burial was scheduled for 3:30 PM (IST), he later received news that it has been delayed in Abu Dhabi. He cannot confirm this yet.

Maaz stated, “If the burial hasn’t happened, I will urge the Government of India to arrange for her remains to be returned here for her final rites.”
Shahzadi Khan was an Indian woman who faced execution in the UAE for the alleged murder of a baby she was caring for. Her execution took place on February 15, 2025, a fact confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs to the Delhi High Court.
Shabbir Khan, Shahzadi’s father, expressed deep sorrow over the situation. He feels that the authorities did not support them in the case concerning the infant’s death. At 65 years old, he laments allowing his daughter to seek work in Abu Dhabi, realizing that he will never see her again. “I am in deep pain and sorrow, as I won’t be able to perform her last rites, which is my right,” he told ETV Bharat.
A relative mentioned that they have also filed a complaint against an individual from Agra who reportedly helped Shahzadi go abroad.
