LEAWOOD, Kan., January 31, 2025 – AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc., the largest movie theater chain in the U.S. and worldwide, has announced a significant leadership change. Nikkole Denson-Randolph has been promoted to Senior Vice President and U.S. Chief Content Officer. Her new responsibilities will focus on overseeing film programming, content acquisition, and the strategy for movies in the United States. She will work closely with studios and the creative community while based in Los Angeles.
This transition comes as Elizabeth Frank, who has led AMC’s programming for many years, prepares to take on the role of CEO at RealD, a top provider of 3D cinema technology.
In addition, Juan Antonio Gomez, currently the Chief Partnership and Content Officer at ODEON Cinemas Group, will take charge of film and content programming internationally for AMC outside the U.S. He will be based in London, reporting to Mark Way, who oversees AMC’s European operations.
Denson-Randolph and Gomez will work together to ensure that AMC and ODEON continue to showcase a diverse range of films and alternative content. They aim to strengthen relationships with studios and filmmakers, enhancing the movie-going experience for audiences worldwide.
With 16 years at AMC, Denson-Randolph has made a notable impact in the film industry. She has a reputation for supporting independent films and inclusive storytelling. Notably, she led the successful releases of two concert films: Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. Her work has opened up new opportunities for filmmakers, allowing for unique stories to be shared on the big screen.
Under her leadership, AMC launched the AMC Artisan Films program, which highlights character-driven stories, and AMC Independent, aimed at showcasing global films. These initiatives reflect her commitment to diverse and engaging cinema.
AMC’s Chairman and CEO, Adam Aron, expressed confidence in Denson-Randolph’s abilities, noting her vital role in the company’s success. He believes her creativity and vision will keep AMC at the forefront of the film industry.
