Exciting News! Veteran producer Andrew Schneider is taking the helm at Candle Entertainment, a new division of Candle Studios, as Executive Vice President.
Before this, Schneider served as President at Perfect Storm Entertainment, the production house behind the famous Fast & Furious movies. In his new role at Candle Entertainment, he will expand the scripted film and TV department. His focus will be on action, drama, and thriller genres, aiming to tap into the growing global co-production market. Candle Entertainment also includes brands like Faraway Road Productions, known for Fauda and Hit & Run, and Exile Content Studio, which caters to Latin audiences with projects like Vgly and La liberación.
Schneider will work from Los Angeles and will report to Candle Studios CEO Sarah Harden. He will oversee Exile’s Executive Chairman, Isaac Lee, and Faraway’s Co-CEOs, Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff.
Harden expressed her excitement about Schneider’s leadership, saying, “With his experience and vision, we can share unique global stories. We recognize opportunities for male-focused shows, and Andrew’s expertise will help us create films and series that resonate worldwide.”
Schneider brings over six years of experience from Perfect Storm, where he played a key role in projects like F9: The Fast Saga and Fast X, both of which earned over $700 million globally. He also worked on smaller indie films like Lin’s Last Days and developed international co-productions in countries like Indonesia and Thailand.
“I admire the creative work from Candle and can’t wait to delve into my favorite genres,” said Schneider. He looks forward to collaborating with the talented teams at Faraway and Exile for projects that captivate audiences everywhere.
Before joining Perfect Storm, Schneider was Vice President of Television and Film Production at Free Association, where he worked on notable projects like Comrade Detective for Amazon and Gorilla and the Bird for HBO. He is a University of Southern California graduate and has a background at DreamWorks Animation and Fox21 Television Studios. Schneider is also involved with organizations dedicated to ALS research and the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Candle Media, founded by former Disney executives Kevin Mayer and Tom Staggs, oversees Candle Studios, which is divided into three sectors: Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, Candle Entertainment, and Candle True Stories. The company is backed by funds from Blackstone.
