Durham, N.C. – A tragic shooting occurred on Friday afternoon, resulting in the death of one man. The incident took place just before 12:30 p.m. at a food truck located on NC Highway 55, near E. Cornwallis Road.
When Durham Police arrived at the scene, they were directed to a possible shooting victim. Unfortunately, they discovered a man who had been shot. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
Later that evening, police announced the arrest of 32-year-old Jeisson Munoz-Valencia, who has been charged with murder. Authorities confirmed that Munoz-Valencia and the victim were acquaintances. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
A friend of the deceased, who was working at the food truck, spoke to ABC11 about the loss, sharing that they were close. Witnesses reported seeing crime scene tape around the Mexican JB American food truck and nearby picnic tables, with police stating that this seems to be an isolated incident.
