Battlefield 6 Head: ‘We’re Committed to Delivering the Ultimate Battlefield Experience After 2042’ – A Promise to the Community!

Rebecka Coutaz, DICE’s Vice President and General Manager, recently chatted with GamesRadar about the highly anticipated Battlefield 6. With the game’s release just around the corner, she shared insights into taking over DICE after the rough launch of Battlefield 2042.

Coutaz joined DICE in November 2021, only a couple of weeks after Battlefield 2042 hit the market. By then, the game was already facing backlash for its bugs, missing features, and not meeting fan expectations. It was a tough period for both the team and the long-time players who felt let down by the franchise.

“People had high hopes,” Coutaz said. “We wanted to make it right for them and for our team.” Over time, DICE worked hard to address the game’s issues, and Coutaz noted that Battlefield 2042 had improved significantly since its rocky start.

When discussing Battlefield 6, Coutaz explained the team’s decision to return to a modern-day setting. It’s been over a decade since Battlefield 4, and she believes fans have been craving this shift back to their beloved style.

Coutaz also expressed her sense of duty to the Battlefield community. “I have felt an obligation to create one of the best Battlefield games ever. That’s my motivation,” she said.

The game’s open beta in August received positive feedback. Players felt that DICE had finally listened, creating a game that captures the spirit of Battlefield. According to a recent poll, 75% of players expressed excitement about the new direction, showing a strong desire for this modern revival.

As this new chapter in the Battlefield saga unfolds, it’s clear that both players and the development team share an eagerness for a fresh start. This focus on feedback and community has become a crucial part of game development today, highlighting the evolving relationship between developers and gamers.
