He expressed frustration about how the situation escalated without any discussion or attempts to resolve it. The controversy led to what he called a “lunatic arbitration,” which he advised anyone facing similar situations to avoid. “It’s not justice,” he said.
Murray admitted he learned from this experience, calling it a disappointment. “I thought I knew someone, but I didn’t,” he reflected. He still believes the idea of a masked kiss is humorous.
The Friend, directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, closely follows the tale of a woman played by Naomi Watts who inherits her late friend’s dog. It is based on Sigrid Nunez’s novel and arrived in theaters recently.
