Blake Lively Celebrates ‘Gossip Girl’ Co-Star Michelle Trachtenberg: ‘She Was Pure Electricity!’

Gossip Girl star Blake Lively is among those honoring her co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, who sadly passed away at 39. Trachtenberg was found unresponsive at her home in New York City, news that left many in shock.

Lively shared her heartfelt memories of Michelle in an Instagram Story. She reminisced about their time on Gossip Girl, where Michelle portrayed the character Georgina Sparks, opposite Lively’s Serena van der Woodsen.

In her post, Lively recalled their first meeting. “She was electricity,” she wrote. “You felt her energy the moment she walked in. Everything she did was full of passion. She laughed wholeheartedly, stood up to authority when needed, and truly cared about her work. Michelle was loyal to her friends and brave for those she loved. She was unapologetically herself.”

Lively also reflected on the inevitability of time, expressing the sadness of losing touch with friends. “You take for granted that you’ll see an old friend again. The real tragedies are those that come unexpectedly,” she added.

Michelle Trachtenberg starred in 28 episodes of Gossip Girl and was known for her role as a key antagonist. Other cast members including Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford have also shared their condolences.

Additionally, tributes from her co-stars continue to pour in. Kim Cattrall, who worked with Trachtenberg on Ice Princess, and others from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, where Trachtenberg played Dawn Summers, have expressed their sorrow as well.
