The Brandeis University track and field team recently competed at the New England Division III Championships held at Springfield College. The women’s team finished 11th, scoring 22.5 points, while the men placed 28th with five points.
Standout Performers – Women
Graduate student Shae Regan led the way with a bronze medal in the 5,000-meter run, clocking in at 17:22.49. She was just 18 seconds shy of second place.
Senior Ella Warkentine also secured a bronze in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Her time of 11:25.70 was impressive, especially as she sprinted past a competitor in the final lap.
In the 10,000-meter run, senior Calli Morvay finished fourth, slicing 50 seconds off her previous best with a time of 39:58.17. Morvay had a stellar second half, moving from ninth to fourth place as the race unfolded.
The women’s 4×800-meter relay team also shone, finishing fourth at 9:40.17, just a second ahead of Wellesley.
Junior Sophie Segal tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.57 meters (5-1 ¾).
Standout Performers – Men
For the men, sophomore Parker Cook made waves in the steeplechase, finishing with a personal best of 9:36.68. He maintained his fourth-place position throughout the race.
Junior Sam Krause excelled in the throws, capturing fifth place with a throw of 53.86 meters (176-8), earning him All-New England honors.

The team looks to enhance their NCAA Championship qualifiers next weekend at the FIRE Invitational at Williams College.
