Swiss skier Camille Rast enjoyed a triumphant day at the alpine ski world championships, winning the women’s slalom in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria. This hard-fought victory marked an important milestone in her career.

Rast secured her lead from the first run, finishing 0.46 seconds ahead of her teammate, Wendy Holdener, who took home the silver medal. Katharina Liensberger from Austria joined them on the podium, taking the bronze with a time that was 1.32 seconds slower than Rast’s.

Mikaela Shiffrin, an American star in the sport, finished in fifth place. This result means she narrowly missed what would have been her 16th medal at the world championships, a record she shares with Christl Cranz from Germany, who achieved 15 medals back in the 1930s.
