Celebrate Diversity: Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, and Others Shine at the 2025 Dorian Awards, Honoring LGBTQ Excellence in Entertainment

Ariana Grande has always been a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community, and the support is mutual. At the 2025 Dorian Awards, she won the award for Supporting Film Performance of the Year for her role in Wicked. This recognition puts her in the running for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress, alongside competitors like Zoe Saldaña.

Grande’s co-stars in Wicked, Cynthia Erivo and Jonathan Bailey, also took home awards. Erivo, who is nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress, received the GALECA LGBTQIA+ Film Trailblazer award, while Bailey snagged the “We’re Wilde About You!” Rising Star honor.

The horror film The Substance was a big winner, taking home five awards. It won Film of the Year and Campiest Flick, which is a rare combination, along with Film Performance of the Year for Demi Moore, Director of the Year for Coralie Fargeat, and Genre Film of the Year for science fiction/fantasy/horror. Demi Moore was also honored with the Timeless Star Award, celebrating her notable career.

Several films scored multiple wins. I Saw the TV Glow won both LGBTQ Film of the Year and LGBTQ Screenplay of the Year for Jane Schoenbrun. Will & Harper took home the Documentary of the Year and LGBTQ Documentary of the Year awards. Challengers was recognized for both Screenplay of the Year and Film Music of the Year for Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, whose score has been widely acclaimed.

The Dorian Awards, founded in 2009 by the Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, celebrate achievements in film, television, and theater, always with a focus on LGBTQIA+ representation and storytelling.
