Binghamton University is gearing up for an exciting Commencement celebration this May, where over 4,600 degrees will be awarded. The ceremonies will run from May 14 to May 16, 2026, with three ceremonies each day.
On May 14, the day kicks off with the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at 9 a.m., followed by a special doctoral hooding ceremony at 12:30 p.m., which honors those completing their doctoral studies. The Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences will hold its ceremony at 4:30 p.m. All ceremonies will take place at either the Osterhout Concert Theater or the University’s Events Center.
President Anne D’Alleva expressed her warm congratulations to the Class of 2026. “Commencement is a wonderful moment to celebrate your hard work,” she said. The events will also feature notable speakers, including alumni who have made significant contributions in various fields.
During this three-day event, nearly 3,400 students will receive their bachelor’s degrees, along with over 950 master’s degrees and almost 250 doctoral degrees. This diverse representation reflects the comprehensive educational offerings at Binghamton.
For many graduates, this day is more than just a ceremony—it’s a milestone. According to a recent survey by the National Center for Education Statistics, approximately 66% of college graduates believe their degree has significantly impacted their career opportunities. It emphasizes the value of higher education in today’s job market, where skills and qualifications play a crucial role in securing employment.
