Connecticut is gearing up for an exciting summer weekend filled with festivities. If you love strawberries, don’t miss two fantastic strawberry festivals happening this weekend.
The first festival is at Coe Memorial Park in Torrington. It runs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Here, you can enjoy “Connecticut’s BEST Strawberry Shortcake,” along with strawberry lemonade and pie. There’s even a giant walking strawberry! The event is free, and there will be vendors showcasing crafts and more. Just remember, the rain date is Sunday.
Meanwhile, the New London County Strawberry Festival takes place at the North Stonington Agricultural Fairgrounds on both Saturday and Sunday. Expect over 15 food trucks and 80 vendors. You’ll find tons of strawberry-themed goodies here, too! Admission is free, with Saturday hours from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Derby is celebrating a big milestone—its 350th anniversary. From May 30 to June 1, the town will have a three-day extravaganza at Derby Green. Think fireworks, live music, and fun for the whole family, including a time capsule opening. It’s a celebration of history and community!
Wethersfield is also getting in on the fun, hosting a fireworks display on Saturday night at Cove Park. There’ll be music and activities for kids, making it a perfect summer evening.
For dog lovers, Stratford offers the first-ever “Paws & Pints” on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Two Roads Brewing Company. This event is all about celebrating your furry friends with music, shopping, and vendors focused on pet products.
And if you’re in Stamford, check out “Bark in the Park” at Latham Park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event features dog-centric vendors, fun activities, and even free microchipping. It’s a great chance to support local animal rescues, so don’t forget to bring a donation.
These events promise fun for everyone, whether you’re a foodie, a family member, or a dog owner. Get ready to taste delicious treats and enjoy the summer festivities!
