Celebrating a Decade of Progress: UN, France, and Brazil Unveil Commemorative Logo for the Paris Agreement – Stay Informed on Climate Action and Renewable Energy!

As we approach the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement, a significant milestone in the global fight against climate change, a new commemorative logo has been unveiled. This initiative, launched on June 5, 2025, involves Agnès Pannier-Runacher, France’s Minister for Ecological Transition, and Marina Silva, Brazil’s Minister of Environment and Climate Change, with the support of Simon Stiell from the UN Climate Change.

The Paris Agreement, adopted in December 2015, was a groundbreaking accord where nearly 200 countries pledged to limit global warming, aiming to stay well below 2°C, and preferably at 1.5°C. This year, Brazil will host COP30 in Belém, showcasing a decade of shared commitment to protect our planet.

The logo aims to boost visibility and encourage events aligned with the Paris Agreement’s goals. Eligible activities include workshops, exhibitions, and educational projects that promote climate awareness and sustainable practices.

Importantly, a recent survey by the UN indicates that 78% of countries are ramping up their climate plans. However, to meet the Paris targets, experts stress the need for concrete actions. The World Meteorological Organization has highlighted that global temperatures are rising, which could lead to severe environmental impacts if trends continue.

Organizers wishing to use the logo must meet specific criteria, such as focusing on actionable climate goals and ensuring diverse representation in their events. This includes engaging the public, private sectors, and academia to foster a collaborative environment.

Agnès Pannier-Runacher emphasized the necessity of unity in addressing climate challenges, while Ambassador André Corrêa do Lago noted the importance of the Global Stocktake, which revealed that the Agreement is helping to limit temperature increases.

As we look to the future, Simon Stiell reminded us that while significant progress has been made, much work remains to keep global temperature rise in check. The commemorative logo serves as a rallying point for those determined to accelerate efforts against climate change.
