Celebrating Excellence: Arkansas Tech University Honors Arts and Humanities Faculty and Staff Award Winners

On May 1, 2025, the Arkansas Tech University College of Arts and Humanities held its awards reception at Witherspoon Hall. The event celebrated outstanding faculty and staff contributions.

Dr. Jeffrey Cass, the college’s dean, welcomed everyone. Several notable awards were presented:

• Dean’s Choice Award: Dr. Brendan Toner, associate professor of political science, and Sylvia Cooper, executive assistant for graduate and international admissions.
• Staff Award for Distinguished Service: Abigail Butler, administrative specialist II.
• Adjunct Faculty Award: Philippe Van Houtte, visiting lecturer of French and systems librarian.
• Mentor Award for Distinguished Student Advising: Dr. James Stobaugh, associate professor of sociology.

The ceremony also recognized faculty members who achieved significant service milestones and promotions during the 2024-25 academic year.
