Celebrating Tomorrow’s Leaders: Northwood University Honors the Outstanding Class of 2025

The Northwood University Class of 2025 is celebrating its Outstanding Business Leaders, a group recognized for their significant achievements in business and community support. This year’s honorees include:

  • J.W. Fisher, P.E., Midland, MI – President, Fisher Contracting Co.
  • Bill Hanvey, MAAP, Arlington, VA – CEO & President, Auto Care Association
  • John Hennessey, Houston, TX – Founder & CEO, Hennessey Special Vehicles
  • Ben Marsh and Jacob Spence, Midland & Bay City, MI – Co-Founders, Creation Coffee

Northwood University has been recognizing outstanding leaders since 1981. This year’s honorees represent the spirit of The Northwood Idea, emphasizing free enterprise and ethical leadership. Their professional achievements and commitment to community service highlight the power of business to create positive change.

Ambassador David T. Fischer played a crucial role in re-establishing diplomatic ties between Morocco and Israel as the U.S. Ambassador to Morocco. He also led one of the largest automotive dealership groups in the U.S. His ongoing commitment to philanthropy continues to inspire others in the industry.

J.W. Fisher, P.E. has over 40 years in the construction industry. As President of Fisher Contracting Co., he has significantly impacted Michigan’s infrastructure, demonstrating a strong commitment to community and industry growth.

Bill Hanvey has carved out a prominent role in the automotive aftermarket. As CEO of the Auto Care Association, he champions critical initiatives like the Right to Repair legislation. His work reflects a deep understanding of the industry’s evolving landscape.

John Hennessey has built a reputation for speed and performance in the automotive industry. He has modified over 14,000 specialty vehicles since 1991, including the incredible Venom F5 hypercar. His work embodies innovation in automotive engineering.

Ben Marsh and Jacob Spence turned a passion for coffee into a thriving business. Creation Coffee started as a small roasting operation and has expanded nationally, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit that Northwood University fosters.

The Class of 2025 was formally honored on April 26, 2025, during a gala at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. This event celebrated the honorees’ contributions to both business achievements and societal betterment.
