The University of Evansville baseball team is headed to Chicago this weekend to take on the UIC Flames, looking to build on their recent success. After a thrilling win against SEMO, the Aces hope to keep their momentum going and extend their two-game winning streak.

The matches are scheduled for:
- Friday, April 4 at 1 PM CT
- Saturday, April 5 at 2 PM CT
- Sunday, April 6 at 1 PM CT
All games will be held at Curtis Granderson Stadium in Chicago. Fans can follow the action through live stats and broadcasts, with radio coverage provided by 107.1 FM – WJPS.
In their last game, the Aces clinched a close victory against SEMO. First baseman Cal McGinnis delivered a critical hit, finding a way to score the winning run in the eighth inning. They are now showing promise in close games, with a record above .500 in one-run contests this season. Their previous wins came against teams like Missouri and Central Arkansas, which shows their growing competitiveness.
As they gear up for this series, Evansville aims to maintain their strong position in the Missouri Valley Conference. Last year, they won the series against UIC and also celebrated a victory in the MVC tournament against the Flames. However, UIC has had a rough start this season, currently sitting at 6-21 overall.
One standout player this season for UIC is outfielder Luke Nowak, who boasts an impressive .374 batting average and 40 hits. Nowak has experience against the Aces, having previously played for East Carolina.
On the Aces’ side, graduate catcher Matt Flaherty is on fire. He recently hit back-to-back home runs, including a dramatic walk-off homer against the Beacons, showcasing his ability to change the game in critical moments. Before joining Evansville, he led the Bellarmine Knights in home runs last season.
With key matchups ahead, fans are excited to see if the Aces can continue their winning streak and improve further in the standings. As always, baseball in the Missouri Valley Conference promises to deliver drama and excitement this weekend.
