Craig Smith Highlights the Unforgettable Game Atmosphere in West Virginia

The Mountaineers had an exciting victory against Utah during the Coal Rush game. This event featured the first-ever LED wristband light show at the WVU Coliseum. Utah’s head coach, Craig Smith, praised the lively atmosphere of the arena.

Smith remarked, “When you turn on the TV and see a WVU game, it’s hard to switch channels. You can really feel the energy through the screen. This was my first game here as a coach, and it has a special vibe.”

This game was Utah’s sixth road contest in the league. Smith acknowledged the challenges of travel, especially with time zone changes. However, he noted that every team faces these hurdles throughout the season.

“You just have to go out and compete,” he said. “Playing college basketball is a privilege, and tonight’s environment was amazing.”

Smith expressed pride in his young team, highlighting their performance against a strong West Virginia side in front of a sold-out crowd.

The Mountaineers will face BYU next at home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. EST.
