Credivera Boosts Verifiable Credentials with Oliu’s Cutting-Edge Technology Acquisition | Biometric Update

Credivera, a company that specializes in verifiable credentials for professionals, is making waves with a new deal. They’ve announced plans to acquire the technology from Oliu, a product of ATB Financial’s innovation branch, ATB Ventures. This move will boost Credivera’s role in the digital trust market, according to sources from Calgary, Canada.

CEO Dan Giurescu emphasized the importance of this acquisition: “By adding Oliu’s ID verification technology, we will enhance our platform and stay dedicated to offering secure solutions. This will drive innovation and improve customer satisfaction, strengthening our leadership in using verifiable credentials.”

The technology from Oliu will add “layered” ID verification features, complementing Credivera’s current services. This partnership continues a collaboration between ATB Ventures and Credivera, which began last year when they worked together to expand digital credential and ID verification services in Alberta and beyond. ATB Financial, managing $62.3 billion in assets, has grown to serve over 820,000 clients since its inception in Alberta.

“With this acquisition, Credivera can grow faster and offer even more value to customers,” noted Dan Hugo, CFO of ATB Financial.

Earlier, Credivera formed a global partnership with Northern Block, a leader in digital credentialing. This collaboration combined Credivera’s platform, the Credivera Exchange, with Northern Block’s Orbit Trust Registry, creating decentralized ecosystems for the workforce that cross organizational lines.

The Credivera Exchange, the company’s flagship product, gained prominence last summer after being approved for purchase by the Government of Canada. Through the Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) Pathway to Commercialization program, Credivera was able to offer its digital credential technology to federal departments and agencies. “This recognition at the federal level is incredibly exciting for our team,” said Dan Giurescu.
