The Crozer Health system will stay open for now, easing fears of a shutdown. This news comes after a warning from Prospect Medical Holdings, Crozer’s parent company, regarding possible closure. Attorney General Dave Sunday and The Foundation for Delaware County shared this update on Sunday night.
During a meeting in Harrisburg with a federal bankruptcy judge from Texas, an agreement was made between Sunday, The Foundation for Delaware County, and Prospect Medical Holdings. They’re determined to keep the health system operational as they search for a long-term solution.
Sunday expressed relief that everyone involved focused on moving ahead instead of dwelling on past issues. He thanked all parties for their dedicated negotiations, which lasted over six hours. This agreement is crucial for the many families who rely on Crozer for essential health services and for the staff who provide care.
Before this announcement, Prospect Medical Holdings warned that they could only finance the Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Taylor Hospital until March 14.
