Dave Coulier Opens Up About His Second Cancer Diagnosis: What It Means for Him and His Fans | CNN

Dave Coulier, the beloved star from “Full House,” is facing a tough health journey. Last year, he revealed he has blood cancer. Recently, he shared that he is also battling a second type of cancer. During an interview on “Today,” he mentioned that he was diagnosed with HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer.

Coulier’s journey took another turn when he announced in November 2024 that he had stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma. After undergoing seven months of chemotherapy, doctors discovered the new cancer during a routine PET scan. “Something flared on the PET scan,” he explained. It was then found that he has P16 squamous carcinoma at the base of his tongue.

“This was a shock to the system,” Coulier admitted. He described the experience as a “roller coaster.”

P16-positive cancers, like Coulier’s, are often linked to the HPV-16 virus, which is known for causing various health issues. According to the American Cancer Society, early detection is crucial for successful treatment. Coulier is currently receiving radiation, which he hopes will finish by the end of December. He is optimistic about his prognosis, noting that early detection played a critical role in his treatment.

“Early detection saved my life, not just the first time, but the second time as well,” he emphasized. This highlights an important health message: regular check-ups can make a significant difference.

In light of his experiences, Coulier has taken proactive measures to promote wellness. He co-founded AwearMarket, a platform dedicated to offering toxin-free wellness products. It’s his way of raising awareness and helping others focus on healthier lifestyles.

As Coulier navigates his health challenges, his story serves as a reminder of the importance of regular health screenings and the potential of early detection in cancer treatment.
