Discover Bluesky’s Exciting New AI-Powered App: Transform Your Experience!

Earlier this month, Jay Graber, who was the CEO of Bluesky, transitioned to a role as the chief innovation officer. It’s interesting to note that “chief innovation officer” is a real job title, especially common in the tech industry. Graber has already introduced a new app, although it’s not available to the public just yet.

This new app is called Attie, and it utilizes AI to help users tailor their social media experiences. It’s designed in collaboration with Anthropic’s Claude AI. According to Toni Schneider, the new CEO of Bluesky, Attie is a standalone product and the first developed by Graber’s new team. Schneider emphasized that while it’s an AI product, it focuses on improving user experiences.

However, this shift might not sit well with some Bluesky users, as the platform has a reputation for being critical of AI. When Bluesky was launched, it attracted those looking for a Twitter alternative without Elon Musk’s influence, especially during the upheaval at Twitter in 2023.

Believed to be a platform promoting extensive customization, Bluesky was co-founded by Jack Dorsey, who also helped create Twitter. Graber has often stressed the importance of personalization in Bluesky’s mission.

At the recent Atmosphere conference, which gathered developers and fans of Bluesky’s open protocols, attendees got a sneak peek at Attie. Users will interact with the app using prompts, similar to chatting with a bot. Attie is designed to search for posts based on these prompts, curating a personalized feed across Bluesky and other compatible networks.

Still in beta testing, the vision for Attie is clear: users will be able to “vibe-code” their own experiences. This approach reflects a broader trend in social media, where personalization is becoming increasingly vital. As of now, Bluesky seems committed to blending AI and user-centered design, ushering in a new era of social interaction.

As we look at these developments, it’s worth noting that around 38% of users prefer tailored social media experiences, according to a recent survey by Pew Research Center. This indicates a growing demand for platforms that prioritize customization and engagement.
