The Spain Food Nation Summit is back on June 25 to celebrate the growing ties between Spain and the UK, especially in food. Hosted at The View in London, the event will feature talks and discussions aimed at boosting Spanish food exports to the UK.
This year, the summit will emphasize the foodservice sector. Two Advisory Councils will play a key role: one focused on restaurants and the other on beverages and cocktails. The restaurant council will include top chefs from Spain who will discuss how quality Spanish cuisine can introduce authentic products to the UK market. Meanwhile, the beverage council will gather industry leaders to share insights on cocktails and drinks that complement Spanish food.
The summary from these councils will be shared at the summit. Following the presentations, there will be roundtable discussions where experts will explore how Spain and the UK can strengthen their partnership and what the future could look like for Spanish food in the UK.
Fernando Muñoz, director of Foods and Wines from Spain, expressed excitement for the event, highlighting that past summits received great feedback. He noted, "We’re eager to delve deeper into the opportunities for British consumers to enjoy high-quality Spanish food and drink."
Directly after the summit, “Taste Spain London” will showcase over 20 Spanish producers. Attendees will get a chance to discover new trends and taste a variety of products, from premium olive oils to artisan cheeses and cured meats.
Recent stats show that food exports from Spain to the UK have grown by over 10% in the last year, indicating a rising interest in Spain’s culinary offerings. All this points to a vibrant future for Spanish food in the UK market.
