CUI’s Winning Streak: Key Players Shine Against CSUSB

The Golden Eagles played a strong game on Saturday, defeating Cal State San Bernardino. Sophomore guard Kevin Haupt stood out, scoring a career-high 16 points. He contributed significantly with four three-pointers and three assists, showcasing his skills off the bench.

Haupt’s performance was vital, but he wasn’t alone. Marcellus Edwards scored 12 points and sank 8 of 11 free throws, while starters Kaden Minter, MaCarhy Morris, and Nick Corbett each added 10 points. Their teamwork was evident and instrumental in the win.

Defensively, Radek Homer shined with nine points, grabbing 10 rebounds—a game-high—along with three steals. His efforts helped keep CSUSB’s offense in check.

“It’s all about team effort,” Haupt said after the game. “I felt comfortable, and my teammates were there to support me. It was a great win for us.”

As they celebrate this victory, the Golden Eagles look forward to their next challenge against Cal State Dominguez Hills on November 26 at 6 p.m. Following the Thanksgiving break, they will be back at home on November 29 to face Cal State East Bay at 2 p.m., with the women’s team also in action that day.

Interestingly, the team has followed a trend seen in recent sports statistics, where collaborative gameplay has become essential for success. According to recent studies, teams that display strong on-court chemistry outperform their rivals more consistently. This win underlines the importance of teamwork in achieving goals.
