CBN serves as a hub for practitioners and stakeholders focused on brownfield redevelopment in Canada. It was established after recommendations from the National Roundtable on the Environment and the Economy highlighted the need for a more effective approach to brownfield management. Founded by the Ontario Centre for Environmental Technology Advancement and the Canadian Urban Institute, CBN became an independent not-for-profit organization in 2009.

The network is guided by a Board of Directors, incorporating insights from its founding members. CBN aims for brownfield reuse to be the top choice for developers, moving away from traditional “dig and dump” methods.

Webinar Overview

This session aims to change the way we think about brownfield redevelopment. Instead of viewing excavation and landfill as the only options, experts will discuss innovative remediation strategies that are financially sound, efficient, and sustainable. They will provide real-life examples that demonstrate these effective methods.
