Discover Local Quality: 570 Sporting Dog Supply – Your Go-To Choice for Pet Owners!

Kirsten Wojciechowski and her husband, Tyler, had a vision when they adopted Tucker, their black lab. Tyler wanted to train him as a bird hunting dog. But they quickly faced a problem: there weren’t any local stores that sold the training gear they needed.

After driving an hour and a half to get a hunting vest from Cabela’s, they found it was the wrong size. This frustrating experience sparked an idea. “We should open our own store if we ever get the chance,” Wojciechowski recalled.

Fast forward to April 2024, and that dream became a reality with the opening of 570 Sporting Dog Supply in the Back Mountain area. Located at 3162 State Route 118 in Dallas, the store has filled a gap in the market that had long been overlooked. It’s no surprise that they won Best Pet Supply in the Times Leader Best of the Back Mountain reader’s choice awards.

“We wanted to provide quality products and dog food locally, so people wouldn’t have to travel far or shop online,” Wojciechowski said. It’s about creating a community space for dog lovers and hunters.

Despite its name, 570 Sporting Dog Supply goes beyond just hunting equipment. They offer grooming supplies, treats, toys, and food—stocking around 30 to 35 types of dog food regularly. However, they have access to hundreds of options through their online store.

Wojciechowski loves the personal connections that come with running a small business. She enjoys meeting different dogs and their owners every day. “It’s a rewarding but sometimes stressful job. But sharing products I trust with fellow pet owners makes it all worthwhile,” she added.

Interestingly, small businesses like 570 Sporting Dog Supply are gaining traction. A 2022 survey found that 41% of people in the U.S. prefer shopping locally for pet supplies, indicating a shift towards supporting community businesses. This trend reflects a growing desire for personalized service and local connection.

With their dedication to quality and community, the Wojciechowskis aren’t just selling products; they are building relationships. This approach isn’t just a business model; it’s a movement toward fostering local connections while meeting the needs of dog owners.
