Discover the New Amrit Bharat Express: 6 Exciting Long-Distance Routes Launching in Odisha!

Indian Railways is expanding the Amrit Bharat Express service in Odisha by adding six new trains. This will increase the total number of Amrit Bharat Express trains in the state to seven.

Right now, only one train, the Berhampur–Udhna (Surat) service, operates in Odisha. The new trains are designed to improve passenger comfort, featuring modern LHB coaches that offer better seating and amenities.

These six new services will run on various routes: Tambaram–Santragachi, Tiruchirappalli–New Jalpaiguri, Bengaluru–Alipur Duar, Nagercoil–New Jalpaiguri, Bengaluru–Radhikapur, and Bengaluru–Balurghat. They will stop at important stations in Odisha, such as Berhampur, Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, and Cuttack, making travel easier for more people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate these trains on January 17 and 18, alongside two Vande Bharat sleeper trains. The non-AC sleeper coaches are tailored for middle-class travelers looking for budget-friendly options.

These trains will operate at speeds of 110-130 km/h, featuring locomotives at both ends in a push-pull setup. This design not only enhances speed but also improves safety and ventilation for passengers.

Recent data shows that rail travel is growing in India. According to a report by the Ministry of Railways, passenger numbers increased by 20% last year, indicating a rising demand for train services. As more people choose rail travel for its affordability and convenience, the expansion of the Amrit Bharat Express aligns with these trends.

Offering comfortable and affordable travel options is crucial. With these new routes, Indian Railways is not just connecting more cities but also supporting local economies.
