YPSILANTI — Eastern Michigan University (EMU) has been recognized for its excellent online programs in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report rankings. EMU ranked No. 35 for veteran graduate education and climbed nine spots to No. 120 for graduate education overall.
Ryan Gildersleeve, dean of the College of Education, shared, “We’re very proud of this recognition. It shows our dedication to providing quality education for everyone, especially veterans. We aim to create a nurturing environment where all students can excel.”
Rankings come from a detailed survey of over 1,700 universities. Factors include faculty qualifications, student services, educational technology, and feedback on program quality. Graduate programs are also assessed based on student performance and background.
EMU’s support for veteran students is a standout feature of its online programs. The Veteran Services program offers tailored help, connecting students with advisors and essential resources. Veterans Affairs representatives are also available to assist students in managing healthcare and benefits, ensuring they succeed both academically and personally.
The College of Education prepares students for impactful careers. It offers various graduate programs that train future teachers, counselors, and educational leaders, equipping them with the skills to excel in their fields.
EMU provides flexible learning options. Students can choose from over 40 fully online undergraduate and graduate programs in areas like business, healthcare, and technology. Notably, all online students pay in-state tuition, regardless of their location.
This recent ranking builds on EMU’s accolades from other organizations. EMU has also been recognized by Newsweek and Military Times as a top choice for online degree programs and as Michigan’s most military-friendly university for 2024.
