During the Senate vote, Republican Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski joined 47 Democrats in opposing Patel’s nomination.
After his confirmation, Patel made a bold statement on social media, warning those who threaten Americans. He emphasized dedication to hunting down such threats, saying, “Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work.”
Who is Kash Patel?
Kash Patel was born on February 25, 1980, in Garden City, New York, to Gujarati parents. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond and later became a lawyer with a Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law.
Patel started his career as a public defender, handling serious cases including murder and narcotics. He often reflects on how his Indian heritage has shaped his values and driven his career, although most of his work has centered on U.S. national security and law enforcement.
At 45, Patel has held several significant roles, notably as deputy assistant to the President and senior director for counterterrorism at the National Security Council (NSC).
