LA CROSSE, Wis. – Kylee Doherty stepped onto the track at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, ready for her final performance as an Eagle. She put on a great show, finishing eighth in the discus throw and earning her First Team All-American status—the second Eagle ever to achieve this. On Saturday, she added her third Second Team All-American honor in the javelin throw.
Doherty kicked off the championships by competing in the discus throw. With impressive throws of 42.51 meters, 44.65 meters, and 44.58 meters, she secured her place in the final round. Her best throw, 44.72 meters, was enough to finish eighth overall.
A rainstorm rolled in during her javelin event, but she managed a strong throw of 42.07 meters, earning her 11th place. Though weather conditions were challenging, she kept her focus and did her best.
Doherty has set a new milestone at Edgewood University. She’s the first athlete there to be a three-time All-American. Only one other athlete, Pat Wolff in men’s basketball, has achieved three All-American honors in the university’s history.
