Don’t Miss Out: The World’s Premier Food Festival is Back in New York This Weekend!

The warmer months bring exciting food festivals, and the Queens Night Market is back this weekend! Kicking off its 11th season on Saturday, April 18, this popular open-air market will be at the New York Hall of Science in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Expect to see thousands of hungry guests exploring diverse flavors from around the globe.

Over the years, the Queens Night Market has showcased dishes from over 100 countries. It has launched 500 new businesses and attracted more than four million visitors to Queens. This year, more than 60 vendors will delight your taste buds with offerings like Filipino silog from Sampaguita Eats, Nigerian meat pies from Soronko Kitchen, and Dominican treats from Baez Flav Co.

Even with rising costs and economic challenges, the market is keeping its $6 price cap this year. John Wang, the founder, emphasized the importance of affordable food. “Maintaining this price cap has been tough,” he said, citing a 35% inflation rate. “It takes careful budgeting and strong support from sponsors.” This year, Citizens and the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation are helping make this possible.

Along with delicious food, the market is committed to giving back. At least 20% of net ticket sales will go to local charities. You can catch sneak previews on April 18th and 25th for $5 online or $8 at the door, with free entry for kids under 12. If you miss these previews, the market officially opens on May 2nd for everyone to enjoy.

Experts suggest that community events like this foster local economies and bring diverse cultures together. Similar markets around the country have seen a rise in attendance, with studies showing that food festivals can boost local tourism and provide a platform for small businesses to thrive. As foodies flock to these events, social media often buzzes with the latest food finds and vendor highlights, making them a hot topic online.

The Queens Night Market promises to be a highlight this season, offering tasty dishes and a vibrant community atmosphere. Don’t miss out on this culinary experience!
