Eagles Soar to ECU: What to Expect from the North Carolina Central Basketball Showdown on Wednesday!


DURHAM, N.C. – North Carolina Central just added an exciting game to its softball schedule. The Eagles will take on East Carolina at Joyner Family Stadium in Greenville, N.C. on Wednesday, February 26, at 6:30 p.m. Fans can catch the action live on ESPN+.

This matchup with ECU is part of a doubleheader, as the Pirates will also face UNC Wilmington earlier in the day at 4 p.m.

Kendall Smith is leading the Eagles with eight RBIs and an impressive .435 batting average. She has scored five runs and is tied for second on the team in stolen bases with Nyla Rodgers and Tyler Suttles, both of whom have three steals. On the other hand, Daiyah Bailey is the top scorer for NCCU with seven runs and leads the team with five stolen bases.

Samaria Jackson adds power to the lineup with five RBIs and two home runs. Makiya Graves and Takia Nichols follow closely with four RBIs each.

For East Carolina, Kanisha Anderson shines with a .500 batting average and 13 runs scored. Morgan Johnson is also a standout, hitting .436, with 16 RBIs and 10 runs to her name.

After facing ECU, the Eagles will travel to Buies Creek, N.C. to play Campbell in a three-game series over the weekend.
