On a bright Thursday morning, Ni’shyah Duncan and Christopher Hale, both seniors at Thomasville High School, proudly signed up for this exciting program. They will attend Thomas University tuition-free, taking up to 15 credit hours each semester while working toward their teaching degrees.

Once they earn their paraprofessional credentials and complete the interview process, they can work as paraprofessionals in Thomasville City Schools. This allows them to gain practical experience while completing their studies. By the time they graduate, they’ll not only have teaching certifications but also four years of Teacher Retirement System (TRS) credit. They’ll be ready to step right into full-time teaching roles.

Ashley Palmer, the Coordinator of STEM, CTAE, and Career Development for Thomasville City Schools, emphasized the program’s potential. “This partnership is a game-changer. It helps our students realize their dreams in education while ensuring we cultivate dedicated, local professionals who can make a real impact,” she said.
